A pottery wheel that fits in your pocket. Pull the wall up with your thumb, glaze it, fire it, and set it on the shelf.
Clay Wheel is a small ceramics studio for iPhone. Every vessel is a real 3D mesh, re-thrown as you drag โ not a picture of a pot. Calipers read the height and width in centimetres while you work.
The whole app is three places. You throw at the wheel, your fired pieces line the shelf, and the journal keeps the log of everything you have made.
One piece takes about a minute. The wheel keeps turning the whole time, and every change to the profile is re-lathed into the mesh as your thumb moves.
Open the app on a fresh lump of warm stoneware, porcelain or red earthenware, already spinning on the wheel head.
Drag up or down anywhere on the wall. The ring you touch swells or narrows, its neighbours follow, and the calipers move with it.
Rib smooths the wall into a clean curve. Trim cuts a foot under the base. Undo steps back through the last forty changes.
Dip it in a glaze, pick a finish, and fire. The piece is named, logged and set on the shelf, and a fresh lump comes up.
"Centre the clay, open the floor, pull the wall. Every pot remembers the hand that made it."
From the studio settings screenThere is no timer, no score and no streak to protect. Nothing in Clay Wheel expires, and no piece can be lost by not opening the app for a week.
Not a single mesh is imported. Every vessel, wheel head and shelf board is generated in code, which is why a pot you shape can be any silhouette rather than one of a handful of presets.
Everything below ships with the app and works the moment you install it โ nothing to unlock, download or subscribe to.
No. The app makes no network requests at all โ there is no backend to talk to. It behaves identically in airplane mode, including the very first launch.
No. There is no sign-up, sign-in, email capture or profile anywhere in the app. You open it and you are already at the wheel.
In a Core Data store inside the app's own container on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Deleting the app deletes your shelf with it, so it cannot be recovered afterwards.
None. There is no store, no paywall and no premium tier โ every glaze, tool and milestone is available from the first launch.
Yes. Settings has a haptics switch and a motion switch. With motion off, the wheel stops idling and shelf pieces stop drifting, while tap feedback still works.
Yes. "Reset the studio" in Settings clears your shelf and journal and drops you back at a fresh wheel with the glaze library intact.
